The first close call was the day before. A car turned without blinkers, and another rolled into the main road mid-corner. I had to react fast, twice. Got through both clean, but it stuck with me. Not fear. Just a mental note: stay sharp.

The next day, I was riding “Magistrala”. Clear skies, wide road, full focus. I was chasing a faster bike ahead of me. One of those rides where everything feels in sync.

Until it didn’t.

Came into a corner too fast, pushed wide, and had to fight it back on track. Right after that, a car came straight at me from the opposite lane. I reacted quick. One flick. Just enough.

And then... nothing. No panic. No shaky hands. Just calm. Clarity. Like something clicked into place.

I didn’t slow down. I caught up to the guy in front. But something was different now. I wasn’t riding harder, just more present.

I didn’t come back rattled. I came back grateful. Not just for surviving. For learning. For being reminded how fast things can change, and how focused I want to be, always.

Sometimes you don’t need more time. You just need to feel the moment you’re already in.
